Upcycling Project

From the second year at Scandinavian Academy of Fashion Design: An upcycling project centered around creative problem-solving through alternative materials and reuse.

This upcycling project highlights the environmental impact of littered nicotine pouches (snus) by transforming (sanitized,) used pouches into conceptual pet accessories, such as a food/drinking bowl and a collar. Discarded pouches is not biodegradeble; they fragment into persistent microplastics and leach toxic chemicals into ecosystems. Wildlife frequently mistake this toxic debris for food, causing severe illness. By reshaping hazardous litter into objects of domestic pet care, the project creates a powerful irony, challenging consumers to confront their disposal habits and stop littering.
